Drugs are poisoning Meghalaya youth, but locals aren’t giving up the fight

Shillong: Substance abuse has become a growing concern in the northeast, particularly, Meghalaya, with the state grappling with inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of affordable rehabilitation centres. This has prompted Indigenous communities to unite to address the issue. Meghalaya is a state in the northeastern part of India, it is a Christian-dominated state consisting of three tribes – Khasi, Jaintia and Garo.
